Christopher Wood, 67, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

  1. First Degree Murder

He was scheduled to appear in court at Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 10 a.m., in room 106.

Update June 3rd 2026: 69-year-old Christopher Wood has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2023 killing of his neighbour, admitting he repeatedly stabbed the victim after becoming increasingly distressed by loud gospel sermons playing from a radio. According to the Toronto Star, court documents show Wood had complained for weeks that the noise was causing him severe anxiety, anger, and thoughts of violence. Police found Wood standing over Ituen’s body after the attack, and a post-mortem examination determined the victim died from multiple stab wounds. Wood will be sentenced at a hearing later this month, where a judge will determine when he may first be eligible for parole.
