Waterloo Region police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Chelford Crescent just before 10 a.m on March 17th.
On arrival police located a 15-year-old female with multiple stab wounds, and an 18-year-old male with what is believed to be self-inflicted wounds. Both teens were rushed to seperate hospitals where the 15-year-old victim died of her injuries.
The 18-year-old has been charged with one count of first-degree murder. Police said the victim and accused were known to each other.
According to therecord.com the accused underwent surgery and was intubated. He was unconscious in the morning but able to make his court appearance on Friday afternoon.
A publication ban has been placed banning printing or broadcasting the name of the victim. The accused can not be named as publishing his name would identify the victim
