Emergency services responded to an address on Cut Line Road between Parr Line and Tipperary Line in Holmesville on July 2nd at approximately 4:15 p.m.
On arrival police located a youth who was taken to hospital where they were pronounced deceased. According to reports, sources say the victim in the case was a 11-year-old girl.
Police arrested a 13-year-old male youth in connection to the death and charged them with first-degree murder. The individual appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 3rd.
Update June 3rd 2026: A teenager has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the 2024 death of an 11-year-old girl in Holmesville, Ontario. The accused, who was 13 years old at the time of the offence, admitted responsibility during a court appearance on Tuesday. Prosecutors said the killing occurred during the commission of a sexual assault, which under Canadian law qualifies as first-degree murder. Investigators also presented evidence related to the teen’s interest in the victim and his online activity. After the incident, the accused allegedly made a false report to emergency services. Sentencing will proceed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, which limits the maximum sentence for young offenders. Updated psychiatric and pre-sentence reports are expected before a sentencing hearing date is set.
