Two charged with the 2023 murder of Nicholas Job in Edmonton

On Sept. 25, 2022, Edmonton police responded to a stabbing at the Edmonton Institution. It was reported to police that Nicholas Job, 32, was stabbed during an altercation and was treated and transported to hospital by EMS with serious injuries.

Police said Job survived the stabbing and was released from the Institution on Nov. 4, 2022.

On Nov. 25, 2022, police responded to a home invasion in the area of 109 Avenue and 97 Street. The victim, Nicholas Job, had been assaulted and shot. On Jan. 8, 2023, Job passed away in hospital. No charges were laid in relation to the stabbing or home invasion.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Job on Jan. 11, 2023; however, the cause and manner of death remained inconclusive pending further examination and testing. In August 2023, the medical examiner confirmed Job died as a result of a stab wound sustained during the altercation at the Edmonton Institution in September 2022.

The manner of death was deemed homicide and the EPS Homicide Section assumed the investigation.

On Wednesday. Feb. 7, 2024, and Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, Christian Joffre Ouelette, 26, and Wacey Dillon Boudreau, 30, were each respectively charged with second degree murder. Both men were incarcerated at the time of their arrests.
