Update: On Saturday, April 8, 2023, Brianna Warner, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- First Degree Murder
Update October 30th 2025: Brianna Warner, 20, has been convicted of first-degree murder for the 2022 shooting death of Toronto rapper Jai Parker-Ford, also known as Aveboy SK. Warner, who was 18 at the time, shot Parker-Ford in the back of the head inside his Scarborough apartment building on December 16, 2022.
According to the Toronto Star, The jury’s decision came after hearing secretly recorded conversations between Warner, her mother, and an undercover police officer posing as a friend named “TJ.” In the recordings, Warner admitted to the killing, said she used an ex-boyfriend’s gun, and mentioned writing a rap song titled “Braindead” about the incident.
Warner was arrested the next day, and her trial lasted three days, followed by three days of jury deliberation. Despite a brief deadlock, jurors ultimately found her guilty.
Prosecutors argued Warner’s own words, Snapchat messages, and surveillance footage proved she lured Parker-Ford to his death. Her lawyers maintained that she made up the confession for attention, suggesting she repeated details already public online.
Warner received an automatic life sentence with no parole eligibility for 25 years. The court will meet again on November 12 to hear victim impact statements from Parker-Ford’s family, who reacted with visible emotion when the verdict was announced.
