Toronto homicide #42 – Michal Nowaczek-Said charged with the death of Julia Sokolov

Toronto police responded to a radio call for an Unknown Trouble in the Birchmount Road and Danforth Avenue area on September 10th at Approximately 1:50pm.

At the scene police found an injured 50 year old woman who told them there was a man in the building with a knife.

Police found 24 year old Julia Sokolov suffering from life threatening injuries. Sokolov was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Michal Nowaczek-Said, 24, was arrested and charged with Attempt Murder, Assault Bodily Harm and five counts of Assault Peace Office.

Julia Sokolov died of her injuries in hospital on September 19th. Michal Nowaczek-Said’s charges have been upgraded to First-Degree Murder.
