Toronto police responded to a medical call in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area on March 15th at approximately 6:08am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Birchfield Matthews, 43, of Toronto, suffering from serious injuries. Matthews was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Kenroy Samuel, 29, of Toronto, was arrested near the scene and charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, March 16, 2020, 10 a.m., in room 306.
