The Saskatchewan RCMP is again urging the public to come forward with any information related to the 2024 suspicious death of Candie Pritchard.

The 2024 Saskatchewan Homicide Victim List is available here

On February 5, 2024, members of the Battlefords RCMP discovered Candie’s remains near a home on Red Pheasant Cree Nation. During the investigation, RCMP Search and Rescue teams also found additional evidence in a wooded area alongside a roadway in the same community.

Following an autopsy and further investigative work, police determined Candie’s death to be suspicious. The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has since assumed responsibility for the case.

Candie was 44 years old and was from Rabbit Lake. Her mother, Lorna, continues to honour her memory.

“Two years ago, our lives were permanently changed when my daughter was murdered,” Lorna says. “The silence since that time has been overwhelming. Someone knows what happened, and we are begging them to speak up. My daughter deserves justice, and our family deserves peace. She was a kind and loving daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother. She never had the opportunity to meet or hold her two grandsons.”

The Homicide Investigation Unit continues to actively investigate and follow up on all new information received. No charges have been laid, and the investigation remains ongoing.

“We believe there are individuals who have information about Candie’s death, and we need them to share what they know with police,” says Inspector Ashley St. Germaine, senior investigative officer with the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Branch. “Even the smallest detail could be crucial and may help bring answers to Candie’s family.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267) or their local police service. Tips can also be provided anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The investigation is being supported by members of Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Search and Rescue, and the Battlefords Detachment, along with other supporting units.
