Victim identified – Surrey RCMP found two deceased people in a home, investigators say one of the deceased appears to be the victim of a homicide

Surrey RCMP attended a residence in the 14000-block of 102A Avenue on November 21st at around 5:00pm. Police entered the home to find two deceased and contacted the IHIT for further investigation.

Constable Harrison Mohr with the IHIT said “Although our investigation is in its early stages, at this time it appears as though one of the deceased was the victim of a homicide. We are working hard to gather evidence to identify the events surrounding this tragedy.”

Police said it was an isolated incident with no risk to the public, and confirmed that the deceased were known to each other.

Update the victim has been identified by her family as 21-year-old Prabhleen Matharu, a former international student. Police said the other deceased was an 18-year-old male.
