Swan River RCMP said they received a report of a sudden death in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba on July 8, 2024.

On arrival, police located a 54-year-old female deceased inside her home.

An autopsy was conducted and it has been determined that the female died as the result of an injury sustained in the days before her death. Her death is now being investigated as a homicide.

RCMP Major Crime Services has taken carriage of the investigation. information will be updated as it becomes available.
