RCMP responded to a a well-being check at a home near 50 Street and 47 Avenue on the Saskatchewan side of Lloydminster at about 5:51 p.m on September 11th.
Inspector Brian Nicholl said police located three deceased individuals. Their identities have not been released at this time.
“At this time, it does not appear to be a random act. The general public – if they are not involved in this type of activity – and I’m not saying that these were criminals at all – but generally, when it’s targeted, it’s the reason. What that reason is – that’s what the investigation has to determine.” said Nicholl.
Update: the victims have been identified as Brent Peters, 66, Matthew Peters, 32, and Brennan Peters, 34.
Update On Janusary 18th 2025, 31-year-old Nakota Rayne Pooyak of the Sweetgrass First Nation in Saskatchewan was arrested and is facing three counts of second-degree murder.
