Peel police responded to the report of a stabbing hotel in the area of Brittania Road East and Whittle Road on May 20th at approximately 9:25am.

EMS and police arrived to find Rihab Elmahdi, a woman in her 50’s, suffering from serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Const. Richard Chin, of Peel Regional Police, told reporters “I can confirm, that this is not what we would consider an intimate partner relationship.”

Update: On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Waleed Osman, a 25-year-old man from Mississauga, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

According to the Toronto Star:

According to court documents, Osman was previously charged for allegedly assaulting Elmahdi with a book in April 2023. The most recent court document lists Osman’s address as the third-floor unit at the Studio 6 mote
