York Regional Police responded to report of multiple injured people in a home on Castlemore Avenue, in Markham ON, just before 3:00 p.m on July 28th.
Const. Andy Pattenden said, officers arrived at the home and were met by 23-year-old Menhaz Zaman at the front door, and he was placed under arrest. Police then entered the home and found 4 people deceased. Zaman has been charged with First Degree Murder x4
The identities of the deceased and cause of death have not been released at this time, however, police have confirmed that the deceased are three adult women and one adult man. More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update July 31
The victims have been identified as 70-year-old Firoza Begum, 50-year-old Momotaz Begum, 59-year-old Moniruz Zaman, and 21-year-old Malesa Zaman. The cause of death has been determined but will not be released to protect the integrity of the case before the courts.
Update September 24th
ZAMAN plead guilty to all four counts before Madame Justice Feurst in connection with the deaths of 70-year-old Firoza BEGUM, 50-year-old Momotaz BEGUM, 59-year-old Moniruz ZAMAN, and 21-year-old Malesa ZAMAN, all of the City of Markham.
Update Novenber, 9th
On November 6th, Honorable Justice Feurst sentenced Menhaz ZAMAN to life in prison. Mr. ZAMAN will serve a minimum of 40 years before being eligible to apply for parole.
