Ottawa police were called to a home at 20 Heney Street at approximately 4:38 p.m. on April 1, 2025.

Police said fifty-one-year-old Renee Descary of Ottawa died of a stab wound, and that her death was a femicide. According to reports, Descary was an employee with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Oliver DENIA, 24, of Ottawa, has been charged with second-degree murder. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
