Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to a disturbance at the Quaker Road youth facility, in Mariposa Township, On February 24th  at around 4pm. When officers arrived the structure was engulfed in flames.

After the fire was contained police said the home was being treated as a crime scene, as one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased will not be released.

A youth has been charged with second degree murder.

A second victim, an employee has died. The identities of the two victims have not been named as of yet.
