The 2024 Ontario Homicide Victim List is available here

On January 29, 2024, at 8:13 a.m., emergency crews responded to the lobby of 7110 Darcel Avenue in Malton, where they located 58-year-old Keith Lasaga suffering significant trauma from an assault. He was taken to hospital, where he remained in critical condition until his death on March 23, 2024.

On April 4, 2024, 23-year-old Muhammad Khan of Malton was originally arrested for the assault, he was re-arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. 

The accused and the victim are not known to one another.
