A 60-year-old Lise Roy was found dead in her home in Anjou on July 15th, marking Montreal’s 22nd homicide of 2025.

Police said her son was later found dead over 60 km away in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot following a police intervention by the Sûreté du Québec. Authorities believe the two incidents are connected.

Montreal police discovered the woman’s body during a wellness check around 5:20 a.m. The BEI (Quebec’s police watchdog) is now investigating the son’s death, which occurred during a standoff with police. After failed attempts to contact him, police entered the residence around 11:22 a.m. and found him unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.
