RCMP said the body of 25-year-old Juanita Wahpistikwan was discovered on July 11 after firefighters responded to a structure fire on a rural property in the Rural Municipality of Beaver River.

Following an investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has determined the death of Wahpistikwan was a homicide.

RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation and is asking anyone who had contact with Juanita starting July 10 to come forward. Tips can be shared by calling 310-RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
