Calgary police responded to the area of 36 Street and Marlborough Drive N.E., for reports of an assault on October 27th a tapproximately 1:30pm.

Police arrived to find 51-year-old Gil James SCOTT, suffering from a stab wound. SCOTT was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on October 29th.

Joseph Russel VERHAEGHE, 34, has been charged with manslaughter. Police do not believe the altercation was a random act.
