London, Ontario 2026 Homicide Victim List is available here

London Police responded to multiple reports of a stabbing in the area of Hewitt Street and Dundas Street at approximately 10:35 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man unresponsive in a hallway inside an apartment building. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until paramedics took over. The victim, 45-year-old Brandon Christopher Jamieson Nichols, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Police said the investigation remains in the preliminary stages and is ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.

Police are asking anyone who was in the 700 block of Dundas Street between 10:15 and 10:45 p.m. and may have information, such as dash-cam footage, cellphone recordings, or residential or business surveillance video, to contact the London Police Service.

Update: As a result of the ongoing investigation, Robert Mitchell Cornelius, 38, of London has been charged with one count of second degree murder.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charge.
