The Hamilton 2024 Homicide Victim List is available here

Hamilton police responded to the report of an unresponsive man in the north end of the park near the Leander Boat Club. The man was located by a woman who was walking her dog around 8 a.m on April 2nd.

Police arrived to find the deceased man who has since been identified as, Jason Gallant, a 50-year-old man from the Hamilton area.  Police have confirmed that Gallant had been shot.

Update: On April 18th police executed two search warrants in Hamilton in connection to the investigation.    Michael Castiglione, 36, of Hamilton, has been charged with second-degree murder.      

Police are not seeking additional suspects or involved vehicles and believe the incident was isolated, as the deceased and the accused, were known to each other. 

Update: According to the Hamilton Spectator, Police said Gallant was shot elsewhere before his body was driven in a vehicle to the waterfront
