Hamilton police responded to the reports of a shooting at a home in the area of Glancaster and Dickenson Road in Mount Hope on September 16th at approximately 2:55am.
Police arrived to find two men in their 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. They were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where one of the victims subsequently succumbed to his injuries. A third man was forcibly taken from the home in a dark SUV.
Police are searching for 63-year-old Faqir Ali (pictured below). Ali is described as 5’7, 180 pounds, medium complexion, thinning black hair, and was wearing black and white plaid pajama bottoms and no shirt when he was taken from his home. Police believe the incident was targeted.

Update September 17th
Hamilton police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Hasnain Ali, who was known by friends and family as Nano. Faqir Ali was safely located at 9:00 a.m. on September 16th near Beach Blvd.
Hamilton Police located two black SUVs believed to have been used in the double shooting and kidnapping. Police said the first vehicle was found shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Beach Blvd on Sept 17th. This vehicle has been seized and is being examined for evidence.
Hamilton Police have suspect descriptions for two males:
Suspect 1 – Black Male, 6’0 – 6’1, thin or skinny, dark skin, dark pants and a dark top.
Suspect 2 – Black Male, wearing a grey tracksuit and a wrap described as a “doo rag” on his head.
They were last seen headed fleeing Niagara Bound on Eastport drive towards Nikola Tesla Blvd in the second black SUV. This black SUV has been located and seized in Hamilton by police. HPS ask anyone with video to check their cameras on Beach Blvd between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for a black 2015 Ford Edge SUV with license plate CSKC 111 observed on their system.
Update October 8th
Investigators have charged 25-year-old Antoine Chambers with the first-degree murder of Hasnain (Nano) Ali, attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault in relation to this incident. Chambers has also been charged with numerous firearms related charges as a firearm has been recovered by police.

Update September 1st 2022
Hamilton police announced that investigators have arrested 25-year-old John Bartley and 35-year-old Gino McCall of Hamilton and charged them with the first degree murder of Hasnain (Nano) Ali, attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault of Faqir Ali. Both individuals were arrested in the City of Hamilton without incident on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 by the Homicide Unit.
