Edmonton police responded to a trouble unknown call near 92 Street and 110 Avenue, on April 5th at approximately 2:45am.
Police arrived to the scene only to find what they called a significant amount of blood. Later that morning RCMP found a deceased male in a vehicle near Vegreville. Police are not releasing the cause of death at this time.
The DNA collected at 92 Street and 110 Avenue was tested on April 15th and
was matched to Tristen Nicholas Morningeagle Cook-Buckle, 20. On April 18, 2019, the DNA analysis collected by RCMP investigators from the crime scene in Vegreville was also matched to Cook-Buckle. Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed on April 19th the manner of death of Tristen Nicholas Morningeagle Cook-Buckle to be a homicide.
