File Hills Police Service received a report of an injured individual at a residence on Little Black Bear First Nation on December 18, 2024 at approximately 10:30 a.m.

On arrival, police located an injured adult male, who was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as 20-year-old Devin Bellegarde from Little Black Bear First Nation.

Initial investigation by File Hills Police Service determined the male’s death was suspicious. An adult female was arrested at the scene and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes was engaged to continue the investigation.

As a result of continued investigation, 20-year-old Danielle Panipekeesick from Little Black Bear First Nation is charged with one count, manslaughter, Section 236(b), Criminal Code.
