A Vaudreuil, Que. woman has been charged with first degree murder in the death of her seven year old daughter Daniela.

SQ was called to the Vaudreuil-Dorion home on Leo-Gravelle S, February 12th. Police found Daniela suffering from a stab wound. The girl was taken to a hospital but was declared dead shortly after she arrived. Flores-Jimenez was also taken to a hospital to be treated for what police described as self-inflicted wounds.  The father, was also at the scene and was treated for shock.

Claudia Beatriz Flores Jimenez received psychiatric evaluation at Montreal psychiatric hospital and was cleared as mentally able to follow her trial.

Flores Jimenez was charged with first-degree murder and will appear in court again on March 23.
