Charges laid in the Edmonton homicide of Jashandeep Maan

Edmonton police responded to the report of a weapons complaint in a parkade in the area of 101 Street and 102 Avenue on September 4th at approximately 12:15 p.m.

On arrival police located Jashandeep Maan, 22, with significant injuries. EMS treated the man, but Maan was declared deceased at the scene.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that Jashandeep Maan, died of multiple sharp force injuries and the manner of death was homicide.

Edgar Wesker, 40, was taken into custody shortly after the incident, has since been charged with second-degree murder and has been remanded.

Occupational Health and Safety spokesperson Shanna Schulhauser confirmed Friday that the agency is investigating according to a CTV News report. They said the restaurant worker was allegedly fatally injured by a worker from a delivery company.
