Calgary Police were called to the 2100 block of Woodview Drive S.W. following reports of an assault on May 6th at approximately 5:40 a.m. Investigators say one person was seriously injured during the incident and later died from those injuries.

After completion of an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the victim has been identified as 16-year-old Angeline BOUCHER.

Investigators believe the weapon used in the assault may have been disposed of in the area of 24 Street and Woodview Drive S.W. People are asked to contact police immediately if they happen to locate an edged weapon in garbage or recycling bins or in the surrounding area.

Authorities believe this was not a random attack. As the Homicide Unit continues to investigate, several road closures remain in place, including Woodview Drive between Woodhill Court and Woodhill Boulevard S.W. Access to the nearby strip mall at 523 Woodpark Blvd. S.W. has also been restricted, which may impact local businesses.
