Calgary police investigating the city’s 19th Homicide – Crown Prosecutor determined non-culpable homicide

Calgary police responded to a call from an upstairs tenant of a four-plex in the 2500 block of 9 Ave. S.E on December 27th reporting a disturbance at approximately 9:30pm.

Police arrived to find a man in his 40’s deceased. A 39-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene, but has since been released. Police have not released the identity of the victim or the cause of death at this time.

Update January 7th
Investigation held by the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit, and in consultation with the Crown Prosecutor, has determined that this is a non-culpable homicide, and no charge will be laid.
