Vancouver, British Columbia 2026 Homicide Victim List

Vancouver police responded to the report of a stabbing in the area of East Hastings and Columbia Street, on May 6th at approximately 2:32am.

On arrival police located 49-year-old James Andrew Slater suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

A man and a woman were arrested, and following the investigation, the BC Prosecution Service laid a charge of second-degree murder against 27-year-old Braden Levine Ollenberger.

Ollenberger remains in custody.
