London Police and Paramedics were called to a home on Westminster Avenue shortly after 5:15 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, following a report of a death.

When police and paramedics arrived, they found an adult woman inside the residence with a serious traumatic injury. She was taken to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

An adult man was arrested at the scene and initially held in custody while the investigation continued. Police have since confirmed that the victim and the man were known to one another.

Alton Farquharson, 56, of London, has now been charged with second-degree murder. He appeared in London court and was remanded into custody, with a future court date scheduled for December 23, 2025.

At the request of the victim’s family, her identity is not being released. However, to promote public awareness and community safety, police have classified the incident as a femicide.
