RCMP in Maskwacis were the first to respond to a fatal incident in Louis Bull First Nation, now confirmed as a homicide. Police were called around 10:20 p.m. on May 1 after reports of a possible stabbing.
When officers and EMS arrived, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a severe neck wound. Despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has since taken over the case, and an autopsy conducted in Calgary on May 4 confirmed the death was a homicide. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Maskwacis RCMP directly or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers as they continue to gather details.
