Manitoba 2026 Homicide Victim List

Police in the Steinbach area are investigating a deadly assault that occurred late at night in the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne.

According to RCMP, officers were called to the scene around 11:37 p.m. on May 2, 2026, after reports of a serious assault. A 49-year-old man was found with critical injuries and rushed to hospital by ambulance, where he later died. According to reports he had been identified as Cameron Huley.

Authorities have since classified the case as a homicide. Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services is now leading the investigation, with support from Steinbach RCMP and forensic identification teams as the investigation continues.

Update: According to reports, Jeff Wyness, 46, was arrested on May 12th, and charged with Manslaughter.
