67-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Sudbury Home, Police Charge Family Member With Murder

Sudbury police were called to conduct a wellness check at a residence on Municipal Road 55 in Walden on December 22nd at approximately 7:00am. The request came from a concerned loved one who was worried about the safety of a community member due to ongoing issues involving a family member.

When officers arrived, they entered the home out of concern for the individual’s safety, as the family member was present and reportedly in an agitated state. Inside the home, police located a 67-year-old woman deceased.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide. A post-mortem examination will be carried out by the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death.

Out of respect for the family’s wishes, the victim’s name will not be released.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been charged with murder. He remains in custody and will appear in Bail Court. His name is also being withheld at this time to respect the privacy of the victim’s next of kin as they cope with this loss.

Police say this was an isolated and targeted incident involving individuals who were related and known to each other. Authorities have confirmed that this was not an Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)–related case.
