Estevan Police Service responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 1400 block of 1st Street in Estevan on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 8:46 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found three adult men at the scene. Two of them were taken into custody without incident. Emergency Medical Services treated a 60-year-old male victim at the scene and transported him to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Estevan Police Service Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the investigation, with assistance from the Forensic Identification Unit. Following further investigation, one of the men initially arrested was released after being cleared of any involvement.

The other individual, 36-year-old Evan Dennis Isbister of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, has been charged with murder. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Police confirmed that the victim and the accused knew each other.
