Nanaimo RCMP responded to a home to conduct a welfare check after receiving information from the Kelowna RCMP on August 12th at approximately 3:00pm.
On arrival police located 30-year-old Ryan Mosher deceased. RCMP said his death is considered suspicious and the Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit has been called to take conduct of the homicide investigation with assistance from Kelowna RCMP.
Cst. Derek Balderston of the Nanaimo RCMP said “We strongly believe Mr. Mosher’s death is an isolated incident and the general public is not considered to be at risk
.”
Update June 10th 2025
Desiree Mosher, has been charged with first-degree murder nearly four years after the death of her husband, Ryan Mosher.
According to CBC “Nanaimo RCMP Const. Sherri Wade said Desiree Mosher was a person of interest following her husband’s death, but police needed to follow all avenues of investigation before they could recommend charges.”
Desiree remains in custody ahead of a bail hearing on June 16.
