Update: The half brother of the child has been charged with her murder – 3-year-old Emily McCallum-Daniels death declared a homicide in Prince Albert

Prince Albert Police responded to assist Parkland Ambulance on the report of a person in cardiac arrest on April 8th in the 800 Block of 17th Street West.

Emergency crews arrived to find a 3-year-old Emily McCallum-Daniels unresponsive. The child was rushed to Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon where she died of her injuries on April 9th. An autopsy was performed and revealed the manner of death to be a homicide.

No arrests have been made however police said the victim and suspects were known to each other.Police do not believe this to be a random incident and do not believe there is a risk to public safety.

Update May 29th
Fabian Morin, 21, the half brother of Emily has been charged with second-degree murder. Morin made his first court appearance by video link on May 27th and has been remanded in custody until his next court date June 5, 2020 at 10 a.m.
