RCMP responded to a 911 call of a male in medical distress at a business in northeast Airdrie on January 13th at approximately 8:00am.

On arrival Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and assessed the male. During the investigation police were sent on a wellbeing check where they located Melanie Lowen, 48, deceased in the residence.

The 20-year-old male was arrested and transported to hospital for his well-being and remains for an extended period. He has been charged with second-degree murder, and is scheduled to appear in court on JAnuary 17th, 2022.
