The 2024 New Brunswick Homicide Victim List is available here

Oromocto RCMP detachment, along with RCMP Police Dog Services, responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence on Nelson Drive in Nasonworth on May 13, 2024, shortly after 11 a.m.

On arrival police located a 34-year-old man outside of the residence who was suffering from significant injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators said a 17-year-old youth was located walking on Phillips Road, and was arrested without incident by responding members, in connection with the incident. The teen appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court, on May 14th, and was charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to return to court on May 23 for a bail hearing.

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation, and treating the incident as a homicide.
