Montreal police reported that a stabbing happened around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15th near the intersection of Barclay and Victoria avenues, close to the Plamondon Metro station.
When officers got to the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy with injuries to his upper body.
Witnesses told police that at least one suspect ran away on foot after the attack.
The victim was still conscious when taken to the hospital, but his condition worsened overnight, and he passed away early this morning.
This incident is now being counted as the eighth homicide of the year in areas covered by Montreal police.
