Police responded to report of a residential trailer fire on April 23, 2019 on the Swan River Reserve. Police said the fire left one woman dead, and her cause of death was smoke inhilation, and the cause of the fire was arson.

A 15-year-old girl from Swan River Reserve was arrested on June 18th, and charged with Manslaughter and Arson with disregard for human life. She is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Slave Lake on July 10.
