York Regional Police responded to the report of shots fired at a residence in the area of Islington Avenue and Kiloran Avenue on August 9, 2024, at 2:12 p.m.

On arrival, police located Jorge-Ivan NAVAS, 57, of Vaughan suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a trauma center where he was pronounced deceased.

Police are searching for a vehicle described as a Black, 2013 Ford F150, Ontario licence plate BK15799. The vehicle was reported stolen and has not been located

Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in locating the vehicle and would like to speak with any witnesses who may have observed this vehicle in the area between August 8 and August 9, 2024.

Investigators believe this is a targeted incident and the investigation is ongoing.
