Winnipeg Police responded to a report of an assault on July 6th at approximately 6:00pm in the 400 block of Maryland Street.
Police arrived to find a 44-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police identified the deceased as Adam Douglas Monkman, of Winnipeg.
Police arrested Charles Wilfred Thompson, 34, on July 7th and charged him with second degree murder.
