Cape Breton Regional Police are investigating a death after officers discovered an unresponsive person inside a home on Richmond Street in Sydney around 5 a.m. on October 30th.

The individual was pronounced dead after EHS arrived. Police have one person in custody and say the incident is isolated, with no ongoing threat to public safety.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending an autopsy and notification of next of kin.
