79-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Murdered During Hockey Night Gathering in Quebec

A 79-year-old woman, Nellie Tullaugak-Wilson, was allegedly murdered on April 21 at her home in Puvirnituq, northern Quebec, during an evening gathering to watch a Montreal Canadiens playoff game.

The 47-year-old suspect, Matiusi Tullaugak, reportedly became heavily intoxicated and disruptive, refusing repeated requests to leave. As tensions escalated, the elderly woman retreated to her bedroom while another resident left to contact police.

During that time, the suspect was allegedly alone with her and violently attacked her. He reportedly fled but was arrested several days later and charged with second-degree murder.
