Waterloo police responded to the Alpine area of Kitchener after receiving reports of gunshots fired on November 30, 2024, at approximately 3:55 p.m.

According to reports the shooting occurred at A Better Tent City.

Police arrived to find a male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim, a 39-year-old male, was transported to an out-of-region hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing a black coat, light-coloured pants, and black shoes.
