Toronto Homicide #52 – Marcel Teme dies after being shot in Kensington Market

Police and paramedics responded to reports of a shooting in the area of College Street and Augusta Avenue at around 10:30pm on July 1st.

Four injured people were located at the scene. A man in his 20’s sustained multiple gunshot wounds, a man in his 20’s sustained life threatening gunshot wounds, the other two victim’s sustained less severe injuries.

Police said one of the victims died in hospital on July 4th. No other information has been made available at this time.

Update July 8th
The victim of the Canada Day shooting has been identified as Marcel Teme, 19, of Toronto. Police believe there were many people in the area at the time of the shooting and ask any witnesses to contact police at 416-808-7400, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIP.

Update July 13th
Toronto police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Ibrahim Khiar, 32, of Toronto. Khiar is wanted for 1) Second-Degree Murder
2) three counts of Discharge Firearm Endangering Life.

Update February 22, 2019
On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Ibrahim Khiar, 33, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and three counts of Discharge Firearm Endanger Life.
