Timothy Smith Found Guilty of Manslaughter in Death of Landon Waddell Following Fistfight

Saskatoon police received a report of an injured male in the 400 block of 26th Street West at approximately 2:30 a.m. on November 17, 2024.

Police located 37-year-old Landon Waddell suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries

Timothy Smith, 45, faces a manslaughter charge in connection to the death. The suspect and victim were known to one another.

Update January 26th: Smith has been convicted of manslaughter in the death of Landon Waddell, who he described as a friend after a fistfight. The court found that Waddell died from post-traumatic apnea, which experts said was likely triggered by a concussion combined with high blood alcohol levels.
