Teen Charged with Second-Degree Murder After Fatal Incident in Grandmother’s Bay, Saskatchewan

Stanley Mission RCMP responded to a report of an injured man at a home in the Grandmother’s Bay community, on August 2, 2025 at approximately 7:15 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man with serious injuries. EMS later pronounced him dead at the scene. He has been identified as 23-year-old Dillon Charles from Grandmother’s Bay. His family has been notified, and victim services have been offered to them.

The circumstances surrounding his death were considered suspicious, and a male youth was taken into custody at the scene. The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

As a result, a teenage male from Grandmother’s Bay has been charged with second-degree murder under Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code. He appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on August 5, 2025.

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be released.
