Hershan Bains found dead in a vehicle

Surrey police were called to the 7400-block of Sinclair Crescent at around 8pm on January 26th on report of shots fired. Police arrived to find Hershan (Shawn) Bains 36 unresponsive in the vehicle.

Police said Bains died of a gunshot wound. Bains is known to police, and they believe the shooting is targeted.

Karanpartap Waraich killed in targeted shooting

Surrey Police were called to the 12900 block of 96th Avenue on January 23rd at around 9:15pm after several reports of gunshots.

Police arrived to find Karanpartap Waraich 22, suffering from gunshot wounds, in vehicle that had crashed into a sign at a McDonald’s restaurant. Waraich was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and ask that anyone with information call IHIT Information Line at 1‐877‐551‐IHIT (4448)

Surrey Police investigating the suspicious death of Greg Lupel

Emergency crews responded to report of an unresponsive man at the Safeway located at 88th Avenue and 152nd Street on November 25th at around 10pm.

Paramedics tried to revive Greg Lupel 27, of no fixed addess however he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vikram Toor and Ashim Raza dead after drive by shooting

Surrey police responded to report of a shooting on 159th Street and 110th Avenue at around 7:30 pm on October 28th in Surrey’s Fraser Heights.

Police arrived to find Vikram Toor, 24, and Ashim Raza, 19 suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle in what appeared to be a drive by shooting. The one man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other man was rushed to hospital when he died of his injuries.

Police believe the shooting was targeted, although neither of the victims were known to police.

Body of Cree Woman Deanna Desjarlais found

The badly decomposed body of Deanna Desjarlais 27 was found in a wooded area without a path leading to it, in Surrey, BC. Police were able to determine the identity of the woman through a thumb print.

Desjarlais family filed a missing persons report late April after she  had travelled to Vernon BC and nobody could get in touch with her.

Police have not released any other details at this time..

Surrey stabbing victim Troy Clysdale dies of injuries

Surrey police were called to the scene of a stabbing on September 14th at around 2pm in the area of 135th Street and 108th Avenue.

Police found Troy Clysdale 49, and another man who were both suffering from stab wounds. Clysdale was in serious condition and was rushed to hospital where he died on September 15th. The other man is expected to survive.

Boni-Muhammed Mutawakel 20, was arrested feeling the scene and has been charged with aggravated assault.  RCMP have been consulting with the Crown Counsel on the charges being upgraded to homicide.

Sean Christopher Kelly , Surrey’s latest victim

Surrey Mounties responted to reports of gunfire and an injured man on Antrim Road at around 8pm on July 31.  Police arrived to find 27 year old Sean Christopher Kelly severely injured.

Kelly was rushed to hospital where he died a shot time later.

Police have not released the cause of death or any suspects at this time.

Jatinder Sandhu shot to death in Surrey

Surrey police were called to the 14300 block of 90A Avenue on July 23, at approximately 10:30 pm on reports of a shooting. Police arrived to find Jatinder Sandhu 28, and his friend Sean Pasha  injured.

The pair had just come from a coffee when they were shot at while parked in Pasha’s driveway. The two men were rushed to hospital where Sandhu died from a head wound. Pasha was treated for a non life threatening gunshot wound.

Police have no suspects at this time.
