Police responded to an altercation between two cell mates at the Surrey Pretrial Services on August 3 at around 7:30pm.

Police found John Murphy 25 in serious condition. Murphy was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Murphy’s cellmate Jordan Burt has been charged with second degree murder.
